Terms of Service

The rules and conditions that govern your use of BankStatementHive.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using BankStatementHive ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) to use BankStatementHive.

2. The Service

BankStatementHive is a web-based tool that converts PDF bank statements into structured CSV or Excel files using AI-assisted data extraction.

The Service operates on a pay-as-you-go credit model:

New accounts receive 3 free credits upon registration.
Additional credits can be purchased at any time.
1 credit is consumed per successfully processed bank statement.
Credits never expire.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with reasonable notice where possible.

3. Account Registration

To use BankStatementHive, you must register with a valid email address. We use email-based one-time passwords (OTP) for authentication — no password is required.

You are responsible for:

Keeping access to your email account secure.
All activity that occurs under your account.
Notifying us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.

You may only hold one account per person. Creating duplicate accounts to obtain additional free credits is prohibited.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use BankStatementHive only for lawful purposes. When uploading files to the Service, you confirm that:

You are the owner of the bank statement, or you are authorised by the owner to process it.
The files do not contain content that is illegal, fraudulent, or that infringes the rights of any third party.

You must not:

Use the Service to process documents on behalf of others without their authorisation.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise abuse the Service.
Interfere with or disrupt the infrastructure or security of BankStatementHive.
Use automated scripts or bots to consume credits or overload the system.

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that we reasonably believe are in violation of these rules.

5. Credits & Payments

Credits are purchased through Stripe, our third-party payment processor. All payment data is handled directly by Stripe — we never store your card details.

Credits are non-refundable once purchased. This includes partial use, unused credits, and credits consumed by processing attempts that produce an output, even if the output does not meet your expectations.

If a processing attempt fails due to a confirmed technical fault on our side, we will restore the consumed credit at our discretion.

Credits have no monetary value, cannot be transferred to another account, and cannot be exchanged for cash.

6. AI-Extracted Data — Accuracy Disclaimer

BankStatementHive uses AI to extract structured data from PDF bank statements. While we strive for high accuracy, the extracted data may contain errors, particularly with complex layouts, non-standard formats, or low-quality scans.

You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all extracted data before using it in any accounting, ERP, tax, or financial system. BankStatementHive accepts no liability for decisions made based on extracted data that has not been independently verified.

7. Intellectual Property

The BankStatementHive platform, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by BankStatementHive and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Service.

You retain full ownership of the bank statement files you upload and the converted output files you download. We do not claim any rights over your data.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
The extracted data will be complete or accurate.
The Service will meet your specific requirements.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of BankStatementHive is limited to the total amount you paid for credits in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption.

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory under which the claim is brought.

10. Termination

By you: You can delete your account at any time from within the app. Upon deletion, your account and personal data are permanently removed. Any remaining credits are forfeited and non-refundable.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account without prior notice if we determine that you have violated these Terms. Upon termination for cause, any remaining credits are forfeited.

Sections 6 (Accuracy Disclaimer), 8 (Disclaimer of Warranties), 9 (Limitation of Liability), and 12 (Governing Law) survive termination.
