What a Barclays statement looks like
Barclays prints its transaction table with these columns. We read every row exactly as it appears and return clean, normalized data.
- Dates are printed as DD Mon without a year (e.g. 02 Mar) — the statement period in the header carries it, and the date is printed once per day's group of transactions
- The Balance column fills in only at the end of each day's transactions. The table opens with a Start balance row and closes with an End balance row.
- Payment types are spelled out at the start of each description — Direct Debit to, Card Payment to, Bill Payment to, Received From — with references and purchase dates ("On 28 Feb") wrapping onto a second line. We stitch those lines back together, exclude the Start and End balance rows, and use them to verify the extracted transactions.
Why convert your Barclays statement here
Barclays statements have their own quirks. We built our converter for them.
Two dates per row, sorted out
Card rows carry the posting date in the Date column and the purchase date inside the description ("On 28 Feb") — and no row shows a year. We date every row correctly from the statement period, including Dec–Jan statements.
Ref lines stitched back on
Barclays prints the payee on one line and the reference on the next. Each transaction comes back as a single row with the full description intact.
Day-end balances handled
The Balance column only fills at the end of each day. We reconcile the extracted rows against those day-end figures and the Start and End balance rows, so you know the export is complete.
Nothing to lose
If a conversion fails, your credits are refunded automatically — and your first 10 pages are free.

What customers say
"I drive for two apps and my Barclays statement is a wall of "Received From" lines with references wrapped underneath. For my self-assessment I uploaded the year's PDFs and got one clean table — every payout on its own row."
Marcus Osei
"Barclays only shows a balance at the end of each day, so checking my clients' books against the statement was constant manual arithmetic. The export reconciles against those day-end balances for me now."
Eleanor Davies
"Our lettings agency gets Barclays statements from applicants weekly. The dates have no year on them, which used to confuse our checks every January. Converted spreadsheets come back with full dates — problem gone."
Simon Hartwell
