What a CommBank statement looks like
CommBank prints its transaction table with these columns. We read every row exactly as it appears and return clean, normalized data.
- Dates are printed as DD MMM without a year (e.g. 01 Jul) — repeated on every row, with the year printed only on the OPENING BALANCE and CLOSING BALANCE rows
- A Balance on every row in the form $1,234.56 CR — overdrawn balances end in DR, and a brand-new account opens with Nil.
- Card purchases run long — merchant, city, "Card xx4321", then a Value Date: line showing when the purchase actually happened. Statements usually span six months, with promo text sitting between the header and the table. We merge the wrapped lines, keep the Value Date, skip the promos, and turn CR/DR balances into signed numbers.
Why convert your CommBank statement here
CommBank statements have their own quirks. We built our converter for them.
Value Dates, kept
Card purchases print the posting date up front and the real purchase date in a Value Date: line below. We keep both, so you can reconcile either way.
Six months per PDF, no problem
CommBank issues statements every six months, so a single PDF can run dozens of pages. Upload it whole — every page comes back in one clean table.
Beyond the 600-row export
NetBank exports at most 600 transactions and two years of history. Statements reach back seven years — convert the PDFs and the limit disappears.
Nothing to lose
If a conversion fails, your credits are refunded automatically — and your first 10 pages are free.
How to download your CommBank statement
You need the PDF first. Here is where CommBank keeps it.
Online banking
- 1 Log on to NetBank
- 2 Choose "View accounts", then "Statements"
- 3 Select the account — your latest statements are displayed
- 4 Select the statement (or several at once) and click "Download"
Mobile app
- 1 Log on to the CommBank app and tap "Accounts"
- 2 Choose an account and tap "Manage"
- 3 Tap "View statement" and choose the statement date
- 4 Tap "Download"
Statements stay in NetBank for up to 7 years — closed accounts keep theirs for two years after closing. NetBank's transaction export is capped at 600 transactions and two years of history, so anything older is PDF-only.

What customers say
"One CommBank statement covers half a year, and mine run past forty pages. I uploaded the whole thing and got one spreadsheet back instead of copy-pasting page by page."
Emily Harrington
"The purchase date and the posting date differ on almost every card transaction. Keeping the Value Date meant my expense report finally matched my receipts."
Daniel Yeo
"NetBank's export kept cutting off at 600 transactions, which doesn't even cover one statement for our shop. Converting the PDF got every row, first try."
