What a NAB statement looks like

NAB prints its transaction table with these columns. We read every row exactly as it appears and return clean, normalized data.

  • Dates are printed as D MMM YYYY without a leading zero (e.g. 5 Jun 2021) — printed only on the first transaction of each day
  • An end-of-day Balance with a Cr or Dr suffix instead of a sign — overdrawn accounts print figures like 141.40 Dr. The table opens Brought forward and each page closes Carried forward.
  • Dotted leader lines run from each description to its amount, wrapped description lines belong to the row above them, and dated notice lines ("Please Note From 29 Aug Your Debit Int Rate Is 18.05%") sit inside the table without being transactions. We strip the dots, merge continuations upward, skip the notices, and turn Cr/Dr balances into signed numbers.

Why convert your NAB statement here

NAB statements have their own quirks. We built our converter for them.

Dotted leaders, dropped

NAB runs a line of dots from every description to its amount — the detail that fills copy-paste attempts with junk. We read straight past them.

Cr and Dr become real signs

Balances print as 1,407.88 Dr instead of a negative number. We convert the suffixes into signed figures your spreadsheet can calculate with.

Two-year export, seven-year archive

NAB's own export stops at 731 days. Statements go back seven years in Internet Banking — convert any of them; the ATO can ask for five.

Nothing to lose

If a conversion fails, your credits are refunded automatically — and your first 10 pages are free.

How to download your NAB statement

You need the PDF first. Here is where NAB keeps it.

Online banking

  1. 1 Log in to NAB Internet Banking with your NAB ID
  2. 2 Open the Accounts menu and select "Statements"
  3. 3 Choose the account and a date range, then select "Search"
  4. 4 Select up to 25 statements and click "Download"

Mobile app

  1. 1 Open the NAB app and log in
  2. 2 Tap the account, then tap "Statements"
  3. 3 Pick the statement — they're listed by closing date
  4. 4 Tap "Ok" on the security message, then "Share" to save the PDF

NAB Internet Banking holds up to seven years of statements; the app shows only the last two. Transaction export (spreadsheet or QIF) is capped at 731 days — anything older exists only as a PDF.

What customers say

"Copying NAB statements into Excel gave me cells full of leader dots and amounts in the wrong columns. This came back clean on the first try."

Hannah Pearce

"Our overdraft months print as 1,407.88 Dr and every tool read that as a positive number. True negatives meant the cash-flow tab finally matched the bank."

Liam O'Connor

"The ATO review wanted five years and NAB's export stops at two. The statement archive had all seven as PDFs — I converted the lot over a weekend."
