What a Santander statement looks like

Santander prints its transaction table with these columns. We read every row exactly as it appears and return clean, normalized data.

  • Dates are printed as ordinal day and month without a year (e.g. 21st January) — the statement period in the header carries the year
  • A running Balance column on every row. The £ sign appears on balances only — Money in and Money out are bare numbers in two separate columns.
  • Statements open with a BALANCE BROUGHT FORWARD row and close with BALANCE CARRIED FORWARD — capitalised rows with no amount that we exclude from totals. Real statements print descriptions in block capitals with embedded references and mandate numbers that wrap across lines; we reassemble them, strip the st/nd/rd/th suffixes, and complete every date with the year.

Why convert your Santander statement here

Santander statements have their own quirks. We built our converter for them.

Ordinal dates, cleaned up

Santander dates rows "6th January" or "21st January" with no year, and statement periods run mid-month to mid-month. You get complete ISO dates, including periods that span December into January.

Money in and out, merged

Credits and debits never share a column on a Santander statement. We merge them into one signed amount — money out negative, money in positive — and keep the original two columns alongside.

Only real transactions

Brought-forward and carried-forward rows, the News and Information box, and the interest and charges mini-table are excluded automatically — and used to double-check your balances instead.

Nothing to lose

If a conversion fails, your credits are refunded automatically — and your first 10 pages are free.

What customers say

"Santander's "21st January" dates with no year meant Excel never sorted my statements properly, especially over New Year. Here every row comes back with a full date. My monthly bookkeeping for the shop finally takes one sitting."

Gemma Whitfield

"The mortgage adviser wanted twelve months of statements as spreadsheets. Santander had them all in Online Banking, and the converter turned the whole year into tidy CSVs — brought-forward rows already stripped out."

Daniel Okonkwo

"My client's Santander business statements print everything in capitals with references and mandate numbers wrapping over two lines. Every other tool split those rows in half. This one stitched them back together perfectly."
